Ask
Maeve in the parish office

Call or email the office. Maeve takes the child's name and date of birth and the parents' address. You don't need a date in mind, and you don't need to be registered yet: registering takes one form.
Choose the godparents. One godparent is enough, or one godmother and one godfather. A godparent must be at least 16, a confirmed Catholic who has received Holy Communion and who practices the faith. A baptized Christian from another church can stand alongside a Catholic godparent as a Christian witness.
Come to the preparation evening. It runs on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:15 PM in the parish hall, with Deacon Luis. Parents and godparents come once, before the baptism.
Bring the papers. The child's birth certificate, and a sponsor certificate from their own parish for each godparent who belongs to another parish.
The day itself. Baptisms are on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 1:45 PM at St Columba's, or during the 9:15 AM Mass at Our Lady by arrangement. There is no charge; families sometimes leave an offering for the parish.
A question? The parish office answers.
